I go among the trees…
I stretch out my arms towards the sky to the warmth and caress of the sun.
I dig down deep with my roots for water, food, searching for every nook and crannie to make myself safe and secure.
I am a home and provide food for birds and animals.I am fuel for humans as I feed their fires and cook their food.
My diversity is never ending…
In the midst of the wood I become hidden in a place of magic and solitude.
In an open field I am a land mark, something to search for to act as a guide.
I am mysterious…
How many years have I stood in the same spot watching the world change around me.
I see species come and go, my habitat changes and I adapt.
I become something other than I am, cut and sawn I change shape and survive in a multitude of other forms.
Practical, ornate, provide a function where my inner beauty can be shown off.
I am a tree.
