Having had two wonderful weeks of relaxation and a chance to re-charge the batteries I find I am looking forward to getting back into the life of a minister.
Exploring the history of Rhodes and enjoying what the country has to offer it is good to be back in Yorkshire, reunited with our two dogs… Though at one point we thought there would only be one when we returned as Cagney has been very ill!
I’ve also had the chance to catch up on a bit of reading… Non theological! I normally get through one book on holiday, this time I finished three.
Time away makes me realise just how important ministry is to my life, even with all the things I could do without like administrative tasks and problems to solve. I love spending time with the people I come across inside and outside of the churches. I’m looking forward to the new challenges that are in the pipe line and those that are yet to emerge.
They are a shining light that I want to encourage and see flourish, and remind me of why I felt called to ministry which is stronger now than when I first started on this journey.
No more watching life drift by… Though it might take a week to catch up on all emails, messages and other admin activities!
