Travels Ahead… The path that leads to – Tamil-Nadu Theological Seminary

Jo's new camera 058

I have spent some time packing and preparing for my trip to India, I leave with other students from Wesley Study Centre on Friday (28/06/2013). We will hopefully meet at some point on the way with the students from Queens College Birmingham, who we will be sharing this trip with.

It’s not a holiday, we will have to go to morning prayers as usual, and go to lectures on a morning… for anyone thinking this is going to be a breeze. We will also visit areas where students at the seminary go to on placement, as I understand it the students spend the whole of their final year living in their placement… whether that’s in the slums, a part of the Dalit community and many other areas of life in India. Hopefully get to see some areas outside of Madurai also.

I expect to be challenged and changed by what I see and experience, the time I spent in Africa made me realise that what can often be most shocking and difficult to deal with is when you return home.

Who knows where this trip will lead us, I go with a sense of excitement to go exploring… This also means there may not be much contact from me on face book and twitter over the next two weeks, or on here! Hope to be able to do at least one post while I’m out there though… you may have to wait until I’m back in the country. Emails and everything else will have to wait until I return.

Travels Ahead 🙂
